One of the best sales letter tips I ever got was from Dean Jackson.
When Dean used to sell real estate he periodically sent a simple nine word sentence to contacts he hadn’t heard from in a while. No subject line. Just these words:
“Are you still interested in buying a house in [name of town]?”
The terse simplicity of this really works. One marketer on Dean’s blog claims she got a 29% response with it.
I’ve used it myself with prospects that have gone cold. This approach beats almost any other kind of offer I use with cold prospects!
So here’s a few insurance takes on it:
“Are you still interested in a policy review?”
“Are you still interested in a [name of product, such as life insurance, LTC, umbrella, etc.] policy?”
“Are you still interested in a competitive quote?”
Remember, just that one sentence. No subject line. Or use it in your email subject line too. Not even a “Kind Regards” or “Sincerely.” Nine words more or less and you’re out. Just your contact info at the end.
Check it out and let me know.
And so, …
… how can I resist?
